Huge post today! More winter weddings! A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of shooting Charly and Annetta’s wedding. It was one of those weddings where I hadn’t personally met the groom or the bride before the big day. When the day was done, I felt like family. What a great event.
Annetta is a strikingly beautiful bride and equally quick and smart. She’s been learning and teaching in Mandarin Chinese for quite a few years, and from what I’ve heard, she’s exceptionally fluent. I can’t say anything but “I don’t speak Mandarin” …in Mandarin. Shame on me and my asian-ness. 🙂
Charley is a stylish and organized guy, always in the company with many friends. His great love for his family and mother were touching to see, and I can tell he’s the one for Anetta by the way they look at each other, smile at each other, all the small touches.
A light soaked reception with huge windows at Hofstra University Club also made for great images. Here are more than 50 of my favorites from the happy day. *Pics may be a bit yellow, due to upload-crunching. Ah well.
Some of the details for the Best Man.
Both mothers were on hand to help the beautiful bride!
The blue dresses with hot red shoes on the bridesmaids matched nicely with the blue and red ties on the groomsmen. (See top)
Mom making the final touches.
Charley grabbed the ring box, opened it up and put it on the flowers, saying “Hey, here’s a nice shot!” I agree. 🙂 Thanks Charley!
Lots of smiles throughout the day. The girls really loved the posing session!
An elegant and touching talk was given. I almost had to remember to take pictures, it was so captivating and personal!
One of the groomsmen’s socks. You know who you are.
“You may now kiss your bride”
Not 30 minutes after you get married, and you’re already holding the purse. That’s a smart man. 😉
There was light rain on the day, but the dresses were kept high, and everyone made sure to cover the bride! Nobody covered me, but my gear is somewhat water-resistant. 😉
Dancing entrances were terrific and fun!
The first dance was especially touching. I think I noticed Charley singing the whole thing.
The last 4 weddings I’ve done have had cupcake cakes with a small top layer cake for cutting! I think it’s a great modern wedding idea.
Beautiful elegant flower arrangements everywhere.
Mother Son Dance
Father was all smiles out on the floor.
Now it’s time for everyone to get down! (Even the photographer! Can’t stay still in the middle of a dance floor. Ever.)
First cupcake! Mwahaha!
Moments after sunset, the misty air and the purple sky perfectly complimented the beautiful warm glass of the reception hall. A perfect match for our couple.
The cupcakes eaten, the car packed, the music stopped, the night is done. Charley hugs his mother goodbye. “I love you”
CONGRATULATIONS CHARLEY & ANNETTA
