Dennis and I go way back. We’ve known each other for more than a decade, and our families were probably betting on which one of us would get married first. Dennis won! He met Anna about four years ago, and this coming Saturday will be tying the knot, sealing the deal, settling down, whatever you want to call it.
The thing about close friends getting married is that it becomes a personal experience and education. This is a person you know, love, and grew up with – so you care about their relationships. Not that you pry into their personal life, but you just want to see them happy, you know?
I was really curious to see who Dennis would choose, but also very concerned if that person would really treat my friend right, and be just who he needed. Anna is that someone.
Dennis has always been a man of action – when he’s responsible for something, I just know it’s going to be done as soon as humanly possible, and all the loose ends are tied up. He’s an organizer, an arranger, and a meticulous scheduler.
I haven’t known Anna for that long, but I could see quickly why she would choose Dennis. She’s ALSO a fast working scheduler! Ha! Things are done promptly, and done right. They’re both perfectionists, but in marriage, I’m sure that particular quality will allow for some change. 😉 Anyway, this match made on graph paper was meant to be, and the same industriousness and detail-oriented attitude that drives their lives was present in their wedding planning too! Everything, down to 15 minute increments, was basically cared for and accounted for, long before this week.
How will the day go? Well, I guess we’ll see the fruitage of their planning this Saturday. As a wedding photographer, I know something ALWAYS comes up. But knowing Dennis and Anna, they probably have some crazy contingency plans in place too.
I’m sure together, they’ll be an unstoppable team! They love to laugh together, and I was glad to capture some nice moments with them, as we previewed the wedding photo venues. The pictures below are from the lovely Vassar College, in Hudson Valley, New York. We’ll be back here on Saturday, weather permitting, in Wedding attire, for some spectacular pictures!
You know why these pics are going to be ESPECIALLY spectacular?? Because I’m not taking point on them! Hahahaaa! This Saturday, I’ll be partner and second shooter with my long-time photography idol, cousin, and best Bro: Jonathan Fleming! I’ll be posting secondary and detail shots from the wedding, but definitely check Jonathan’s Site and Blog for more info. Go now and check out his current outstanding work too. 😉
Enjoy these preview pictures, and stay tuned for pictures from the wedding this Saturday!
